Nyonya Laksa @ Wu-Shou Lou, Kedai Kopi USJ 2, Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya

Sorry people but I'm kinda into laksas at the moment. This version is called the nyonya laksa because the curry broth has a slight tang to it. It's not as rich as the usual curry laksas and the broth is thinner plus it is served with a sprig of mint.

This particular stall is named after the owner - Wu-Shou Lu which literally means "Moustache Man" when translated from Cantonese. Not hard to miss him as his stall is in front and you'll see them ladling out the bowls of laksa. There's two versions of laksa - you can have the ordinary one with chicken which is around RM5 but this picture depicts the deluxe seafood version for a whopping RM15. It comes with slices of roast pork (siu yoke), clams like lala, a piece of curry stingray fish (ikan pari), tofu puffs, brown sotong, huge prawns and seafood meatballs. The bowl is huge so take your time to finish this extremely satisfying laksa.

sc - I know! I was amazed when I got it as it was so artfully arranged like a masterpiece. Huge bowl that I had trouble snapping a pix. Once in a lifetime laksa.

I grew up in a Nyonya family but I have never seen curry mee like this...some more with clams, seafood balls, and ikan pari? It's strange! Perhaps this is the southern Nyonya food? :P

By the way good news, We are arranging a food tasting for food bloggers in July. I am still talking to a sponsor. If everthing OK, we are sure it will be a great occasion.

meiyen - quite pricey but lots of ingredients inside.

joe - I guess weekend for u as this place is too far from work for you. Never mind, eat yr siu yoke instead from Isetan.

xiu long bao - been ages since I ate at the segambut place. Have they increased their price to RM20! Wow, still remember the days when they first started out.

jasmine - it's boo_liciouskl@yahoo.com.

team bsg - wowee lobster in assam laksa sounds like a cook book I have which has lobster curry laksa.

erinalaw - once in a while indugle laksa is what I call this one.

rasa malaysia - suspect this is invented by the hawker to market his laksa. Not real Nyonya Laksa served in Nyonya households.

tummythoz - LOL! Yeah, ingredients more impt.

big boys kitchen/oven - wow, july tasting sounds good. Hope the sponsor thing works out.

unkaleong - yr fav? Don't worry, I'm on a laksa craze now.
