Technically this ain't a food review since I didn't try the food. However, I thought I'll share the pictures I took of this place. We inadvertently ended up here after our lunch at Kampachi on Saturday. My main aim of walking over to Starhill Gallery was to check out Gwen Lim's artwork on adorable kitties. Instead we walked in on a media circus tailing Jackie Chan who was opening his new cafe.
It was virtually impossible to fight through the throng of photographers to get a picture of the famous kungfu star. I gave up since I hate crowds. Instead I settled for the pictures hung near the lift.
Previously the whole Muse floor used to be kinda empty with a few art places, now it has been transformed with more shops displaying art pieces and even antiques. The cafe is quite unique in its arrangement as you dine at tables placed round the floor area. Decorated with art work and small lights, you get to see what is happening at all the shops around you.
The cafe people were busy busy busy as you can see from my blurry picture. What amazed me is the wide range of Jackie Chan's products. He has flavoured syrups in bottles and fruit purees in cartons all labeled with his name. The drinks are mainly coffee, tea and ice blended drinks. One interesting drink was their Dragonfruit Ice Blend which I would not mind returning to try.
There were also loads of pastries like these strawberry topped sponges kept in the chiller. Mini cheesecakes, cakes with peaches, tarts, scones, muffins and etc were also available. From what I read in the press, there will also be light meals served here.
Since it was chaotic that day, we decided not to stay and try the food. Wouldn't mind returning again to sample their food another day. Also read that the cafe plays a dual purpose in raising monies for charity - they have pledged 2% of the profit to disadvantaged local children.
