McDonalds Hotcakes - Finally Available in Malaysia

When I heard through the
great grapevine that Hotcakes had arrived in Malaysia, I was jumping up and down with joy! No need to wait for a visit to McDonalds over the Causeway or travel far far away to indulge in my little fetish for these delicious babies. Tracking these down were quite a task as somehow I never saw any announcement heralding their arrival to our shores from Golden Arches, the franchise holder in Malaysia for McDonalds.

I finally did figure out where they were found and sampled them recently. Served piping hot with a fluffy and light texture, they were delectable with butter and hot syrup poured over a stack. Absolutely dangerous stuff as it's available all day and night hence I can satisfy my cravings for them whenever I have the urge. Besides the hotcakes with butter and syrup (RM5.99+) they also serve it with Sundae ice-cream with a choice of strawberry or chocolate flavours (RM6.80+). It's also available during breakfast whereby it's served with sausage.

To sample these yummy Hotcakes, drop by the McDonalds' outlets at Bangsar, Bukit Bintang, Centrepoint, Ulu Klang, KL Sentral, Genting, Taman Connaught, The Mall, Low Cost Carrier Terminal and Section 3 Shah Alam. For full addresses of these McDonalds outlets, check out this
link and click on Chilin' Out to track a mcD.

  2. sher - High five girl! Love those hash browns too. Sinful but oh so good esp on a lazy Sunday morning.

kampungboycitygal - Yeah, only ten outlets all spread around the Klang Valley and sorry, none in Cyberjaya or Seri Kembangan. Maybe you should complain to them and see what they say?

  3. I did not know hotcakes were not available in Mysia till now- Whaz the reason?

  4. OMG!!! My favourite...yumzz....especially drizzle with syrup. This will be my breakfast tomorrow, hopefully, McD at Plaza Mont' Kiara serve this. Ermm..don't you think hotcakes with soft serve ice-cream doesn't quite match?? It should be the normal hard one isn't it?

  5. Kesian you all. Now only they serve hotcakes in limited outlet. For us here, we have been having hotcakes since donkeys years. Have to be 'aksyen' a bit becoz most of the food you get there, we here cannot get so easily. Hehehehehe

  10. tigerfish - no idea why it took them so long to bring them into Msia but whatever it is, I welcome this change with open arms.

precious pea - Sorry but Mcd's in Plaza Mt Kiara is not serving this. Only ten selected outlets as listed are currently serving them. Maybe later they will decide to serve this in all outlets I guess after judging the responses.

flower - hee hee, I think you should "aksyen sikit" as we're so deprived of this here.

lemongrass - LOL and fight with everyone else for food.

sc - I didn't know but thanxs to the power of the blogosphere. Hope you enjoy every mouthful.

tummythoz - I guess they're testing the customers' response first. Suspect they have weighted the costs and price points of people to see if they are willing to pay this much for their hotcakes. Yeah, it's pancakes but McDs has always called it hotcakes.

  19. Hey? Funny how I never noticed that you guys didn't have hotcakes. Is the butter served with it the "whipped" variety? Looks abit yellow in the picture. But you guys did get fried chicken at Maccas before us =D Is there still fried chicken in Malaysian McDonalds? I so seldom eat at Maccas in Malaysia because I prefer to indulge in the kickass local food instead so pardon my ignorance =P

  26. pr deal - there's new quarterpounder? not sure abt that.

platinum - hope you satisfy that growling tummy. You can leave comments on Haloscan as that does not require sign up with blogger.

the expedited writer - guess it's just one of those things that can't be explained. I've actually eaten McDs in Auckland before. Sad story abt us as it was the only dinner around that nite.

precious pea - LOL! Go for it girl.

bearyip - oh no! Poor thing. Never mind, now you can go to one of those ten places to try it.

D - Butter is not whipped, just ordinary Anchor butter but so soft. I think fried chicken is definitely more important for us as it's a staple food.

pink elle - hope you enjoy it

wandernut - wow, have a good trip!

someone who is constantly craving - love the waffles at A&W and yup these are pancakes.

an9ie - dunno, I guess some special equipment?

jackson, praveen and miza - hope you all like it. Eat while hot, ok?

oh great!Reasonably priced pancakes at last .. it is one of those things that you can prepare at home but just to lazy to do it, and can only get to eat them in "cafe" type place, it is good time that McD's launching this! Sunday will be so sunny from now on :-)
