The Malaysia International Gourmet Festival (MGIF)

MGIF kicks off next week for the month of November and it's an good time to sample Malaysia's fine dining scene with their special menus. It's been renamed from it's original moniker of Kuala Lumpur International Goumet Festival to include other places within Malaysia.

Do check out the different restaurant's offerings on their
website. I'm so tempted to splurge on one of them i.e. the Senses menu but I suspect other financial commitments will pull me away from sinking so much monies on one meal. If anyone of you get a chance to taste the menus, do drop me a line as I'll love to hear if the food was worth it.

boo, i am so tempted to try it too especially da one at Shangri-La but but.... i got to check with my other half first and see which rest to go for cause it's freaking costly! i did tried da festival menu last year in Oggi Rest and Lai Ching Yuen Rest @ The Regent Hotel last year.. it was really good but too bad, this year, they are out from da MGIF....are you going to any of da participated restaurants?

  4. meiyen - I would love to go Senses only as none of the others look really inspiring but it's so pricey!

foodcrazee - yeah, the Olive has the Michelin stars also. Hope you get to see them too.

neoh - sounds good, Ipoh food is always welcomed.

boo, it's extremely pricey and when i told my bf about it, he was all sweating away and he think it's crazy!!! :p anyways, when will you be going to senses? i've da mercedes-benz privilege card with me and will be given rm 50 f&b voucher which is redeemable on da next visit if i were to dine in. anyways, i see no point to have that voucher eventhough i can redeem it on my next visit cause i don't think i will pay a 2nd visit for da festival menu as we can't afford to do that! if u are keen to go for it...maybe i can pass da voucher to u if i am going...but but.. i am still waiting for da green light from my bf..... :(

  10. meiyen - maybe you try one of the not so expensive menus? My friend is trying to persuade us to go to the Prego one as it's interesting with the visiting chefs. The price is definitely better at RM188 instead.
